Supervise warehouse and clerical employees in the maintenance of inventory, receipt and storage of goods, upkeep of facilities and maintenance of acquisition and distribution records.
The current position is located in the Traffic & Parking Services Division of the Public Works Department.Job Duties and Responsibilities
?Supervise, coordinate, and participate in warehouse operation activities which may include purchasing, receiving, unloading, storage, packaging and distribution of equipment, materials, and supplies to departmental employees.
?Facilitate development and manage implementation of guidelines, policies, standard operating procedures, and methods to support asset management best practices while ensuring compliance with City policies and procedures.
?Determine quantities to order to ensure adequate inventory.
?Review bids and make decisions as to which vendor is accepted.
?Manage record keeping functions relating to warehouse activities and writes reports on request
?Supervise grounds and facilities maintenance and delivery work.
?Coordinate and support work planning by ensuring sources and timely procurement of parts and materials for maintenance of critical equipment and/or processes.
?Develop and sustain performance metrics for best practice warehouse activities.
?Responsible for implementation of warehouse-specific training programs.
?Plan warehouse space and utilization
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years of related experience
Must have and continue to maintain a valid Driver License

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal with occasional warehouse or yard work.

ELIGIBLE LIST STATEMENT:
The names of the applicants who meet minimum qualifications and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. Eligibility for benefits and City-paid contributions towards the cost of medical, dental, and life insurance plans begins the first of the month following thirty (30) days of employment. The City's medical plan is insured by Medica. There is one plan design with the choice of six (6) provider networks. The medical plan offers a wide range of covered services, including physician and hospital service and prescription drugs. Covered services are subject to an annual deductible of $2,000 individual or $4,000 family.
2018 Medical Premiums:
Premium contribution rates are designed to reward employees who take steps to manage their health. As a new employee, you will be automatically enrolled in the wellness rate for the remainder of 2018.
The City's medical plan includes employer contributions to a Health Reimbursement Arrangement Plan (HRA) that is funded by a VEBA trust. The HRA/VEBA is designed to help off-set out-of-pocket costs for health care expenses not covered by insurance. For single coverage, the City contributes $90.00/month to your HRA/VEBA account. For family coverage, the City contributes $190.00/month to your HRA/VEBA account.
Flexible Spending Accounts allows eligible employees to save money, pre-tax, to pay for eligible health care and/or dependent care expenses.
The City offers eligible employees and their dependents dental coverage through Delta Dental. The City pays the full cost of dental premiums. Employees pay an annual $50 deductible, and the plan pays up to $1,500 in dental care per calendar year for each covered person.
Long-Term Disability Insurance:
The City provides long-term disability insurance for most full-time employees. This plan helps to replace income for employees who are unable to work as a result of illness or injury.
The Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) provides retirement benefits for public employees. This automatic benefit is funded both by employee and employer contributions.Currently employees contribute 6.5% of pay and the employer contributes 7.5% of the employee's pay.
Full-time employees receive eleven (11) paid holidays per year. These holidays are:
-- New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples Day (aka Columbus Day), Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Full-time employees are eligible to receive twelve (12) days of paid vacation during the first three (3) years of employment. Vacation leave balances can be carried over from year-to-year up to a maximum of 400 hours.

The Minnesota State Deferred Compensation Plan allows eligible employees to accumulate additional retirement savings on a tax-favored basis through automatic payroll deductions.
