The position is in Mental Health Service at James H. Quillen VAMC. The incumbent is responsible for a remarkably broad range of administrative and clerical duties associated within Mental Health Service. The position performs duties to assist the Associate Chief of Staff, Mental Health, in addition to other staff members of a large clinical service with a broad range of programs across multiple sites. The position is the principal clerical and administrative support position in Mental Health, operating independently of any other such position in the service. The duties require knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and requirements, various office skills, and the ability to apply such skills in a way that increases the effectiveness of others. The incumbent is responsible for utilizing office automation equipment to prepare correspondence, documents and reports; work performed requires the services of a qualified typist and proficiency in a wide range of office software packages. The incumbent functions in collaboration with the Administrative Officer in providing support to diverse programs within Mental Health as a whole.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
