Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises the coordination of all activities between theUS postalfacility serving the institution and the mailroom.
  • Supervises thereceiving, sorting and distribution of us mail and packages as well asinter-departmental mail.
  • Inspects incoming and outgoing mail forcontraband.
  • Serves as notary as required.
  • Supervises the payment ofall money instruments to inmates as well asEH Cooper trust fundactivities.
  • Coordinates registered and certified mail.
  • Maintains athorough knowledge of all current postalregulations and SCDC policies.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
One (1)year of experience in postal operations with supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Must successfully complete SCDC Basic Training.
