The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse 1 or 2 in TB Control with Richmond County Health Department.

Job Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, provides assistance to Public Health Nurses and county programs. Provides care which includes medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections. Assigned to specific duties within the scope of an LPN practice in Public Health. Provides assigned intake and clerical duties for TB Control .

  • Answer and assist client calls
  • Client computer system intake
  • verification of insurance and some billing as instructed
  • Research data and compile program report to be submitted to state
  • Assist with contact investigations on/off site
  • Assist with DOT as assigned
  • Become TST Skin Testing certified and assist as needed
  • Assist with phlebotomy, lab testing, and patient visits
  • Charting and reporting changes in in client conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment
  • Administer medication and note times and amounts in EHR
  • Measure and record vitals( height, weight, temp., blood pressure, pulse and respiration)
  • Provide basic client care and treatment as supervised by RN
  • Works as part a healthcare team to assess client needs,plans, modify care and implement interventions
  • Document accurately in EHR
  • Perform other dutiesas assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited LPN/ LVN School of Nursing AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification AND Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. No experience necessary.

Special Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)
  • Able to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time
  • Lift at least 30 lbs. unassisted
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Willing to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Physically assist with set up/break down of health fairs and outreach activities
