Salary Range: $38,521.60 - $46,217.60 Grade: 24 (Employees: Refer to Civil Service Rule VI.3.1 and VI.17 for promotional rate) Appointment to a position in the classified service shall be at the minimum of the corresponding pay range unless otherwise approved.
Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill vacancies in the Electric Production department and future vacancies as they occur.
Kind of Work
The purpose of this classification is to perform skilled work at the supervisory level, overseeing the activities of subordinate staff on assigned shift, in the daily operation of an Electric Power plant with internal combustion reciprocating natural gas fueled engines.
Minimum Applicant Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, with vocational or technical training in engineering or related field; and completion of Wartsila stationary engine driven generator operations training and/or, depending on area of assignment, substantial experience in boiler and plant operations and maintenance of steam turbines or stationary internal combustion engine driven generation, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess a valid driver?s license.
Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver?s license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Wartsila natural gas fueled stationary engine driven generation for employment or continued employment after the commercial operations date of the new units.
40 Hours per week including shift work and some overtime per departmental needs

This examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, a performance test or any combination thereof deemed necessary to adequately screen and rank applicants. Examination notices will be sent out via email with a testing date, time, and location.
