Introduction

Are you interested in being part of a multidisciplinary team that provide assessments, crisis intervention and referrals to adults and youth with mental health or substance abuse concerns?

Prince William County Community Services is looking for a committed mental health professional to provide mental health/substance abuse services within the ACESS team. The ACCESS team service is the point of service entry for the Community Services and has recently adopted the Same Day Access Model (SDA).

We are seeking an individual interested in being part of a team and organization whose mission is a commitment to improving the quality of life for adults and families in the Prince William County community.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments, to include Columbia Suicide screening tool, SMI screenings and DLA-20
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to families, professionals and community agencies
  • Documentation of all clinical services, collateral contacts and attempted contacts with client and collaterals
  • Linking, monitoring, referring, coordinating, facilitating services needed by clients.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field
  • Possesses or ability to obtain an unrestricted LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • 1-2 years of experience in the delivery of human services to adults and youth in a Mental Health, Substance Abuse, or Emergency Services outpatient program.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience collaborating with other departments & stakeholders. Able to work in a team environment.
  • Experience referring clients to services in the community or to other programs within the same agency
  • Experience working in a team environment and/or with shared clients
  • Good time management skills
  • Experience with Medicaid documentation

Entry Salary Range: $66,742 - $98,380 General Definition of Work, Typical tasks, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
