Responsibilities

Position Summary: We are seeking an innovative, energetic nurse leader for this important nursing management role. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the operation of the Emergency Department. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a registered nurse, the ANM demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care. The Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, he/she creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. This RN is a nurse supervisor and provides oversight for the administration of leave, counseling and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. The ANM serves as Acting Nurse Manager in the absence of the Nurse Manager.This Assistant Nurse Manager will report directly to the Nurse Manager, Emergency Department.

Work Schedule: Shift, weekend and holiday rotation is required. There will be irregular tours with rotation to other shifts as patient care needs require to provide 24-hour nursing coverage.
