THE POSITION

Do you want to get involved in the State Parks' mission? The park is looking for a hard-working individual who enjoys working in a varied office climate handling a variety of tasks including timekeeping, purchasing and some human resource work.

  • Full-time employment
  • Typical hours are 8 am - 4 pm however work hours may vary: 37.5 hours/week - 7 day a week operation.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts as required.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is responsible for the procurement, budgeting & governmental accounting, revenue and contract services and provides support to the Park Manager in the performance of a wide variety of secretarial, administrative and personnel duties for Canoe Creek State Park Complex. Responsibilities include the preparation of procurement documents, assisting in budget preparation, reconciles credit card purchases, as well as Parks' bank account, complies information and data to organize into reports, functions as receptionist, timekeeper, acts as lead worker for seasonal clerical staff by providing their work assignments, instructing on the methods, procedures and policies used by the Park Office and approved by the Park Manager, and processes all revenue taken in through the Park Reservation System. Performs other related work as assigned.

This position works independently within the standard operating procedures and receives specific guidance and direction by the Park Manager when necessary. All duties, functions, and procedures are performed in accordance with the standard practices of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Park Manager. This position may require decision making capability within the well-established Park guidelines and procedures. Effective communication skills are necessary in working with the public, co-workers and other agencies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meet PA residency requirement
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
