The Ryan White Program at District 2 Public Health provides medical and supportive HIV services to uninsured and underinsured individuals in North Georgia (covers 13 counties). We're looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as people rather than numbers in a file, and who understands the value of compassionate service. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidate will know when to slow down, look patients in the eye and provide personalized service.Advancement opportunities are available for the successful applicant.
Under general supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, reports, or presentations. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Serves as clerical support for the Ryan White Program, answering client calls, scheduling appointments, conducting reminder calls for upcoming appointments, receiving correspondence related to patient health services, and assisting with report completion. Assists with non-clinical case management tasks including ADAP, HICP, PAP paperwork completion, and referrals for patient care coordination for an average of 250 patients annually. Ensures availability of care information by filing and retrieving patient records. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies. Protects patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Provides patients with support and guidance as needed. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college AND One year of related experience OR Three years of related experience.
Serves, when needed, as in-clinic interpreter for Spanish-speaking (if bi-lingual) Ryan White patients. Multi-tasking, flexibility, telephone skills, customer services, time management, organization, attention to detail, scheduling, word processing, professionalism, quality focus. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records System. Ability to handle fast paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance. Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work with and have compassion for patients from a wide range socio-economic backgrounds. One or more years of experience in medical office administration.Additional Information
